Mental Health Advocacy Reporting: Colorado Mental Wellness Network (CMWN)

As part of its operations, this organization must provide the state’s Office of Behavioral Health detailed reports demonstrating that it is reaching its goals and upholding its mission statement.

CMWN is a mental health advocacy and education organization that provides individuals with lived experience with mental health/substance use conditions or both with opportunities to improve the quality of their lives, give back to the community through meaningful roles, and to change the perceptions of mental health.

The Opportunity

Problem 1: As part of its charter, CMWN is legally required to provide the state of Colorado's Office of Behavioral Health with detailed reports demonstrating that it is reaching its goals and upholding its mission statement. CMWN needed an automated process to collect data simply and effectively fulfill its requirement. Prior to Nexus Cognitive involvement, this organization was collecting data through disparate spreadsheets with different formats and data. Data was collected and lots of hours were spent consolidating.

The Solution + Results

Solution 1: Nexus Cognitive Services used Business Intelligence capabilities to create an automated data flow system. With Nexus Cognitive's proprietary software EZ ETL, different audiences, including the Board of Directors, their funders, partnering agencies, and the organization's internal team can access their reports. Using the Nexus Cognitive-designed system, management can assess how well the organization's Peer Support Specialists are collecting data and identifying areas of improvement. EZ ETL's reporting system is intended to grow with the organization and Nexus Cognitive Services is always available to pivot as changes arise.
